    Fort Drum and North Country emergency service agencies partnered May 20 to test plans and procedures for responding to force protection and mass casualty emergencies on post. The situation-based exercise involved a simulated explosion on Fort Drum's Wheeler-Sack Army Airfield, requiring medical evacuation of a number of simulated casualties to area hospitals and medical treatment facilities. Fort Drum conducts similar exercises periodically to evaluate readiness and strengthen relationships with local, state and federal emergency response agencies.
