  • 16th STB Soldiers take field cooking to a new level

    Earlier this year, Soldiers of the 16th Special Troops Battalion, 16th Sustainment Brigade, took home the Phillip A. Connelly award for the best field kitchen at the both the 21st Theater Sustainment Command and U.S. Army Europe levels. On Oct. 13, Department of the Army judges arrived at the 16th STB field site on Warner Barracks, here to decide if the unit had what it took to win at the DA level.

  • MP Corps celebrates 70th Anniversary

    More than 850 Soldiers, Family Members and friends from throughout Europe came together Oct. 22 at the Village Pavilion on Patrick Henry Village in Heidelberg, Germany, to celebrate the 70th Anniversary of the Military Police Corps Regiment. This was the third consecutive year the MP Corps ball in Europe was hosted by the 18th Military Police Brigade. Col. Brian Bisacre, the commander of the 18th MP Bde. presided over the event, and Lt. Gen. Mark Hertling, the commanding general of the U.S. Army Europe was the guest speaker for the evening.

Annually Army legal services compete for the Army Chief of Staff Award for Excellence in Legal Assistance and The Judge Advocate General Award for Excellence in Claims. The fiscal year 2010 competition was dominated by the 21st TSC law centers which are scattered throughout the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany.

One unit in 5th Signal Command was given a great opportunity to train with the German Army to prepare for quick reactionary force operations with the host nation. 5th Signal's 72nd Expeditionary Signal Battalion, headquartered in Schweinfurt, conducted a two-day field exercise with the German Army Air Mobile Division (DLO) and the DLO Signal Battalion using a real-world scenario to train.

    Perhaps one of the most famous Airborne Operations in History is Operation Overlord, more well-known as the D-Day invasion. In this famous assault on the German-occupied Normandy region of France, thousands of paratroopers dropped from hundreds of C-47 planes and into World War II. The commemoration of this event held a special place in the hearts of the airborne troops of the 21st Theater Sustainment Command’s 5th Quartermaster Detachment as they traveled to Normandy, June 1-6 to help commemorate the 67th Anniversary of this momentous event, most well-known for its airborne and amphibious assaults.

    Absolutely no coloring outside the box allowed. When the Supply Activity Europe, which falls under the Theater Logistics Support Center-Europe, 21st Theater Sustainment Command, hosted the Korean Arms Verification Agency inspection team here, May 18 and 19, every aspect of the visit was regulated. While it was a historic first to have a South Korean inspection team involved with a Conventional Armed Forces in Europe inspection, the SAE is a well-versed veteran of the annual arms evaluation and inspection process.
