In partnership with Burundian National Defense Forces, U.S. Army Africa and medical personnel from 30th Medical Brigade and the 7th Civil Support Command (CSC) conducted Medical Readiness Training Exercise (MEDRETE 14-6) at the Kamenge Military Hospital in Bujumbura, Burundi, Aug. 4-14.
MEDRETE 14-6 focused on training U.S. forces to operate in an austere environment, share medical procedures, and enhance Burundi's military healthcare systems ability to deliver effective general surgery and trauma response in support of regional and United Nations/African Union missions.
