Staff Sgt. Nicholas Williams, Installation Safety Office NCOIC, and wife Staff Sgt. Kathy Seaton-Williams, S1 NCOIC, U.S. Army Garrison Headquarters command, sit together outside Nicholas' office during an interview. The couple said they emphasize togetherness in their family relations and are trying to adopt their niece Shantell, 11, a special needs child who suffers from dual cortex syndrome, an abnormailty in which a second cortex developed in her brain misfires and causes seizures and problems with her short term memory and learning. The couple also have their own special needs child, an autistic son, Earleo, 12. The Soldiers say that despite the difficulties, they make things work with support of their Family and the Army.
