Sacramento District student employee brings passion for bats to the Corps

SACRAMENTO, Calif. (June 9, 2009) -- U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Sacramento District's Chandra Jenkins holds a Townsend's Big-eared bat during a research trip to Olema, Calif., in June 2009. Jenkins, employed by the district through the Student Career Experience Program, studies bats as a hobby, but hopes to incorporate her research interest into her regulatory work with the Corps, she says. SCEP provides degree seeking students with Federal work experience related to their academic program and career goals.
