Medical Evacuation Mountaineering

Soldiers from 1st Special Forces Group (Airborne) set up a rescue anchor system in conditions of limited visibility during medical training on Mt. Rainier. Mount Rainier, located near Ashford, Wash., is the tallest mountain in the Cascade Mountain range. The system allows Soldiers to safely retrieve a member who may fall into a crevasse or lose footing in some other manner while conducting mountaineering operations.
