Retired Sgt. Maj. Moses Gayle Jr., Fort Eustis Retiree Council co-chair, walks by the Missing Man Table, a new part of this year's event, on his way from explaining the symbolism for the white table cloth as Peg Boarman, FERC survivor spouse advocate, makes her way to the podium to explain the significance of the single red rose. Boarman, according to retired Maj. Edward Rock Jr., FERC chair, is the only survivor spouse advocate on any retiree council in the nation.
