BAGHDAD - A member of the Awakening Council turns in his weapon to an Iraqi Army soldier in the Fadhil neighborhood of eastern Baghdad March 29. Iraqi Security Forces disarmed the council following two days of sporadic gunfire between the group and the ISF. Violence erupted following the warrant-based arrest of the Fadhil Awakening Council's leader Adil al-Mashhadani. ISF took to the streets in order to restore peace in the region. ISF was supported by U.S. forces during the Iraqi-led military operation.
