Noncommissioned officers must be experts in their field

Soldiers from the 3rd U.S. Infantry's Alpha Company, Bravo Company and Continental Color Guard take part in a ceremony honoring the role of the Noncommissioned Officer through the history of the Army. The ceremony, hosted by Sgt. Maj. of the Army Kenneth O. Preston at Fort Myer's Conmy Hall, also included an induction ceremony for 29 newly promoted NCOs. The Old Guard's Fife and Drum Corps, Commander-in-Chief's Guard, Charlie Company and the U.S. Army Band (Pershing's Own) also participated in the ceremony.
