USAG Schinnen, NETHERLANDS – First Class performers. Todd Cerney, on keyboards; Bob Regan on the bass; and John Root on drums perform with Thom Shepherd and the Nashville Songwriters Band to service and family members assigned to the Tri-Border region of Germany, Belgium and the Netherlands Jan. 7, 2009. Armed Forces Entertainment (AFE) is a U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) agency that provides entertainment to U.S. military personnel overseas. They host over 1,200 shows around the world annually to over 500,000 personnel. Talent includes musicians, comedians, cheerleaders, and celebrities of sports, movies and television and, in this case, a band of songwriters who’ve written for some of Country and Western Music’s biggest stars. Todd Cerney was a Grammy nominee in the Best Country Song category for "I'll Still Be Loving You" recorded by Restless Heart and won the ASCAP Country Song of the Year for the same song in 1987. John Root is a percussion expert with a resume reaching from Hank Williams III to Tammy Cochran to Thom Shepherd. (USAG Schinnen Army Public Affairs)
