An Army bugler plays taps June 6, 2014, during a ceremony honoring those who served with the 834th Engineer Aviaion Battalion, at Omaha Beach in Normandy, France. The event commemorated the 70th anniversary of the D-Day landings. The site rests on an airstrip near Saint-Laurent-Sur-Mer, France, that was one of the first to be operational shortly after the invasion. The first flight, which transported the wounded, touched down the evening of June 9, 1944.
