Former President George H.W. Bush (right) examines a military recognition coin during an event in Houston, Texas, Friday, April 25, 2014. The event was a re-enlistment for Army Reserve Master Sgt. Branden Young, a Virginia reservist who successfully requested Bush as the official to witness the ceremony. Young and others traveled to Bush's post-presidential office for the event. Bush received the coin from Brig. Gen. Gabriel Troiano (left). Military custom allows certain commanders to commission a supply of coins that can be then presented to, among others, outside individuals who support the unit.
