Drivers from the 401st Army Field Support Brigade load six--the most to date--MRAP All Terrain Vehicles on a C-17 aircraft, Jan. 22, at Kandahar Airfield, Afghanistan. "Col. Andrew Hird from the 385th Air Expeditionary Group, Air Tactical Operations Center and aerial port at Kandahar, 401st AFSB drivers, and the superior aircrew allowed us to fully utilize the capability of the aircraft," said U.S. Air Force Capt. Chelsee Thomas, the air mobility liaison officer responsible for overseeing the operation. "This allows for fewer missions to be flown, saving money and the potential threat to the aircrews."
