Sword Passing at IMT CSM Change of Responsibility

The passing of the sword signifies the relinquishment of responsibility and authority from outgoing CSM to incoming CSM. The noncommissioned officer's sword used for the ceremony is an original Emerson & Silver model made in 1863 during the Civil War.
