Sgt. 1st Class Kenneth Westbrook

Sgt. 1st Class Kenneth Westbrook (second from right) joins with several Afghanistan National Security Force Soldiers for a photo while serving as an embedded trainer and mentor in support of the 10th Mountain Division (Light Infantry). Westbrook was seriously wounded at the Battle of Ganjgal, Afghanistan, Sept. 8, 2009, but was MedEvaced. He died of complications a month later, at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, D.C. His wife, Charlene was presented a posthumous Silver Star for his gallantry during the battle.
