Emery Thompson, a physical science technician with the U.S. Army Public Health Command Air Quality Surveillance Program, works in a fume hood in the USAPHC mobile laboratory to begin setting up air samples for analysis. The USAPHC uses these air samples to determine if the emissions meet Environmental Protection Agency and local state standards.
