Adam McCann, an engineering technician with the U.S. Army Public Health Command Air Quality Surveillance Program, uses a meter box that controls the volume of stack gas sampled and reads the temperature of the stack gas and stack gas volume. The USAPHC has tested the effluent from smokestacks at Army incinerators for more than 30 years.
