Fort Leavenworth, Kan.-A small metal bell stamped United States Army hangs off the bottom of Lt. Col. Cliff Cribb's Harley Davidson cruiser. Cribb, an operations officer with Operations Group Foxtrot, Mission Command Training Program explains the tradition behind the bell before heading out on a group motorcycle ride on Aug 27 here. "The bell wards off 'gremlins', gremlins for bike riders are responsible for things that can go wrong during a bike ride, such as a driver not seeing you. It's tradition to not buy your own bell but to receive the bell as a gift from a fellow rider. My wife, Laura and I received our bell from friends we ride with."
