Refresher course prepares AFL drill sergeants for newest recruits

Sgt. 1st Class Francisco Latimer, senior drill sergeant leader, observes as Armed Forces of Liberia 1st Sgt. Latimer is one of two drill sergeant leaders from the U.S. Army Drill Sergeant School at Fort Jackson, S.C., who assisted Operation Onward Liberty by teaching a week-long drill sergeant refresher course as the Armed Forces of Liberia prepares to enlist approximately 150 new recruits. Operation Onward Liberty provides mentorship to the Armed Forces of Liberia to produce a capable, respected force able to protect Liberian interests in the West African region. In addition, Operation Onward Liberty is developing the leadership capabilities of the officers and noncommissioned officers to maintain a professional and credible military force with a reputation as a "force for good" among the Liberian people.
