The action took place during a simulated decontamination sequence during the Vibrant Response 13-2 training exercise, Aug. 1, 2013, at Muscatatuck Unit Training Center, Muscatatuck, Ind. Vibrant Response 13-2 is a major incident exercise conducted by U.S. Northern Command and led by U.S. Army North (Fifth Army), which is based out of Fort Sam Houston, Texas. All personnel who enter a chemical agent incident site are required to decontaminate themselves prior to receiving medical assistance or entering what is considered a cleared area.
