111th Hawaii National Guard Band performs at Flying V Ceremony

The 111th Hawaii National Band played during the Flying V Ceremony held in honor of U.S. Army Pacific, Deputy Commanding General, Army National Guard, Maj. Gen. Gary M. Hara. Soldiers from USARPAC performed a "Flying V" ceremony in honor of The ceremony was held June 25 at historic at Palm Circle on Fort Shafter. The ceremony was officiated by USARPAC Deputy Commanding General, Maj. Gen. Roger F. Mathews. The Flying V Ceremony traditionally welcomes or honors senior Army officials when they assume duties, depart or retire from an Army Command. The term "Flying V" refers to the way the colors are posted during the ceremony, which is V shaped.
