U.S. Army Pacific Flying V Ceremony

Soldiers from USARPAC performed a "Flying V" ceremony in honor of U.S. Army Pacific, Deputy Commanding General, Army National Guard, Maj. Gen. Gary M. Hara. The ceremony was held May 30 at historic at Palm Circle on Fort Shafter. The ceremony was officiated by USARPAC Deputy Commanding General, Maj. Gen. Gary M. Hara. The Flying V Ceremony traditionally welcomes or honors senior Army officials when they assume duties, depart or retire from an Army Command. The term "Flying V" refers to the way the colors are posted during the ceremony, which is V shaped.
