Medical First-Responder Training

Aided by an interpreter, Sgt. Pomele and other members of the Hawaii-based 1984th U.S. Army Reserve Hospital conducted about a week of medical first-responder training and then tested the Indonesian troops in the exercise. The Indonesian Soldiers, mostly medics and nurses from the 1st Medic Battalion, are expected to assume the role of trainers and teach what they learned to other Indonesian troops. Pomele is from Honolulu.
