About 28 branch employees complete depot overhaul of navigation receivers for various rotary and fixed wing platforms used by the Armed Forces. The workload includes the AN/ARN-89 Direction Finder, AN/ARN-147 Very High Frequency Landing System receivers and AN/ASN-128 Doppler/Global Positioning/Navigation System. Branch personnel overhaul 200-300 assets per month. Technicians have completed overhaul missions ranging from the Defense Advanced GPS Receiver and Joint Precision Airdrop System to navigation systems for the Army, Navy, Air Force and Marine Corps. Tobyhanna Army Depot is the Defense Department's largest center for the repair, overhaul and fabrication of a wide variety of electronics systems and components, from tactical field radios to the ground terminals for the defense satellite communications network.
