5th Signal Command's Cyber Center Europe dedicated to former U.S. Army Europe deputy commanding general Lt. Gen. Robert E. Gray

WIESBADEN, Germany (May 2, 2013) -- " 5th Signal Command officially named the Cyber Center Europe building on Clay Kaserne the "Gray Center" in honor of former deputy commanding general of U.S. Army Europe, Lt. Gen. Robert E. Gray. Gray was a distinguished signal officer, leader and mentor who was also the first African-American to become the Chief of Signal and Commanding General of Fort Gordon, the headquarters of the Army Signal Regiment. Gen. Dennis L. Via, commanding general of Army Materiel Command, was the guest speaker and accompanied 5th Signal Commanding General and USAREUR CIO/G6, Brig. Gen. Bruce T. Crawford and Lt. Gen. Gray's widow, Annie, in the unveiling of the building's sign. The "Gray Center" is currently under construction and is scheduled to be completed in the summer of 2014.
