SAN ANTONIO " Lt. Gen. William Caldwell IV cheers on the well-wishers during the Fiesta Flambeau Parade April 27 as the crowd sings "Happy Birthday" to his son, Hudson, who turned 10. Saturday marked the 65th anniversary of San Antonio's premiere night-time parade with a tribute and theme "Celebrating San Antonio." The parade is one of the largest illuminated parades in the United States with an estimated 700,000 spectators along the parade route and another 1.5 million watching on television. Caldwell is the commanding general, U.S. Army North (Fifth Army), and senior commander, Fort Sam Houston and Camp Bullis. He was accompanied by his wife, Stephanie, and son, Hudson, in their carriage.
