Army Reserve celebrates 105 years

Runners take off at the start of a 5k run to celebrate the Army Reserve's 105th birthday at Bagram Air Field, April 25, 2013. Lt. Gen. Jeffery Talley, chief, Army Reserve and commanding general, United States Army Reserve Command, Chief Warrant Officer 5 Phyllis Wilson, command chief warrant officer, Army Reserve, and Command Sgt. Maj. James Lambert, interim command sergeant major, Army Reserve, visited Bagram Air Field to help fellow Reservists celebrate the day. The Reserve, which was founded April 23, 1908, as a reserve corps of medical personnel, now includes 148 different military occupation specialties and accounts for 20 percent of the Army's total force.
