Mulch, created by a chipper, is loaded March 1 at the Wetland Cell A construction site in the Trinity River bottomlands in Dallas. Woody plants were removed from by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Fort Worth District to allow future construction of a new wetland wildlife habitat that will lower flood risk for Dallas. In following the National Environmental Policy Act, the loss of these woodlands is being mitigated with new plantings that improve wildlife habitat downstream from this spot.
