A GPS-guided Screamer 2K bundle, Joint Precision Air Drop System, floats to the ground after being dropped from the back of a C-130 Hercules over Afghanistan. The Army may one day use similar guided parachutes to better guarantee delivery of needed supplies to Soldiers. If the Army can get Soldiers to trust the timeliness of its logistics system, Soldiers may be willing to carry fewer supplies, and less weight, in their backpacks.
