Lt. Col. Howard Gobble, commander of 438th Medical Detachment (Veterinary Service), takes part in a transfer of authority ceremony, held March 16, 2013, on Kandahar Airfield, Afghanistan. The unit supported approximately 700 working dogs throughout Afghanistan, conducted 72 surgeries from combat related incidents, and conducted more than 2,100 exams.
