Female diver leaves her mark in history

First Lt. Christie Plackis, the fourth female diver in the history of the Army, who serves as the executive officer for the 74th Engineer Dive Detachment, currently deployed from Joint Base Langley-Eustis, Va., gives the diver 'OK' hand gesture, March 6, 2013, to Staff Sgt. Eric Bailey, dive supervisor, as he checks her for any obvious medical concerns at the Sea Point of Debarkation/Embarkation, Shuaiba Port, Kuwait. Her detachment participated in an underwater welding and hydraulic-tool training exercise lasting three weeks.
