1st. Lt. Christie Plackis, the fourth female diver in the history of the Army, who serves as the executive officer for the 74th Engineer Dive Detachment and is deployed from Joint Base Langley-Eustis, Va., 'splashes' into the water, March 6, 2013, at the Sea Point of Debarkation/Embarkation, Shuaiba Port, Kuwait. Her detachment participated in an underwater welding and hydraulic-tool training exercise lasting three weeks.
