Col. Stephen Marsh, 43rd Brigade Air Operations commander, South African National Defense Force, presents a unit coin to Lt. Col. Kevin Saatkamp, Deputy Chief of Operations for the U.S. Army Africa Contingency Command Post to award the contingency command post with their efforts to make the exercise a success. The contingency command post exercise was designed to prepare USARAF for Shared Accord 13, a joint peace keeping and humanitarian exercise. The intent for the contingency command post exercise was to familiarize the South African National Defense Force with Combined Joint Task Force Headquarters capabilities so U.S. and South African soldiers will have a clear understanding of their roles and responsibilities as a Combined Joint Task Force during Shared Accord 13.
