The LCU 2001 "Runnymede" is the first of the Army's LCU 2000 watercraft series. The Runnymede was christened in 1987 and named after the meadow where the Magna Carta was signed. The LCU 2001 serves within the U.S. Southern Command's area of operations and is a vital asset to U.S. Army South for humanitarian-related missions.
