One of six Soldiers who participated in the first free fall exercise at Fort Hood, Texas, in at least 12 years, lands at the landing zone at Fort Hood, Texas, Feb. 5, 2013. The exercise also included 139 Soldiers from Company C, 2-38 Cavalry (Airborne) (LRS), who conducted static-line jumps from a 1st Air Cavalry Brigade CH-47 Chinook helicopter. The free fall jumpers, who conducted a High Altitude, Low Opening, or HALO, operation, exited the aircraft first. Once they landed and had cleared the area, the static-line jumpers completed their exercise.
