NFL stars visit Hawaii's wounded warriors, Purple Heart recipients

SCHOFIELD BARRACKS, Hawaii " Jason Witten, tight end of the Dallas Cowboys, gets ready to sign a football for a fan at a wounded warrior luncheon at the Nehelani, here, Jan. 24. Purple Heart recipients and combat-wounded Soldiers from the Warrior Transition Battalion, and the 25th Infantry Division's 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 3rd Brigade Combat Team and 25th Combat Aviation Brigade were hand picked and invited to attend the luncheon. Witten is on island for the 2013 Pro Bowl, the all-star game for the National Football League. The match up pits the NFL's American Football Conference's best against the National Football Conference's best. It has been played at Honolulu's Aloha stadium since 1970, with the exception of 2009, when it was played in Miami. Joining Witten were Charles Tillman (Chicago Bears corner back), Victor Cruz (New York Giants wide receiver), Marshawn Lynch (Seattle Seahawks running back), Doug Martin (Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back), and Julio Jones (Atlanta Falcons wide receiver).
