Capt. Jeremy Irvine, Leavenworth, Kan., native, conducts weapons operational checks prior to his crew qualification for an upcoming aerial gunnery range in an AH-64 Apache simulator at the Southeast Regional Flight Simulation Training Center on Simmons Army Airfield at Fort Bragg, N.C., Jan. 10, 2013. These simulator qualifications will help Irvine and his fellow aviators in the 1st Attack and Reconnaissance Battalion, 82nd Combat Aviation Brigade, reduce the cost of ammunition when they begin their aerial gunnery range next month. Pilots throughout the 82nd CAB train regularly at the center, which gives them a cost effective and time efficient opportunity to hone their skills regardless of the weather and aircraft availability. Irvine serves as the commander for Company B, 1-82 ARB.
