Red Cloud killed in action 62 years ago; Medal of Honor recipient who held off assault died Nov. 5, 1950

Cpl. Mitchell Red Cloud Jr., for whom Camp Red Cloud in Uijeongbu, South Korea, is named, was killed holding off a night attack Nov. 5, 1950, during the Korean War. He was awarded the Medal of Honor for his "dauntless courage and gallant self-sacrifice."
