Tom O'Daniel and his son Tyler came out to thank New York Army National Guard Sgt. 1st Class John A. Wilson and other troops during recovery efforts in the aftermath of Tropical Storm Sandy, in Spring Valley, N.Y. More than 3,300 New York Army and Air National Guard Soldiers and Airmen have mobilized to help civilian authorities. In Westchester and Rockland counties, those efforts include standing guard over fallen wires.
