Medical personnel put in long hours, sweat, prepare to earn coveted badge

HONOLULU " After decontaminating his face with an M291, or activated charcoal skin decontamination kit, Capt. Kyle Zahn, registered nurse, Emergency Department, Tripler Army Medical Center, must carefully open his mask and use water to flush his eyes of any simulated chemical agent contamination as he trains for the upcoming Expert Field Medical Badge course, scheduled to begin Oct. 29 at Schofield Barracks. More than 20 Soldiers interested in earning the right to wear the EFMB joined volunteer instructors and EFMB holders throughout August, September and October to train for the upcoming course.
