The U.S. Army's new tactical generators, known as Advanced Medium
Mobile Power Systems, or AMMPS, are being fielded to Afghanistan as part of an energy "right-sizing" plan that includes a comprehensive assessment of current equipment on hand, the amount and type of power required, and the operational status of each power-generating system.
