Sgt. Antonio Gattis, a flight medic with U.S. Army Europe's Charlie Company 1st Battalion, 214th Aviation Regiment in Landstuhl, Germany, reunites with two of the 12 German soldiers the sergeant and 13 of his American collegues rescued in Afghanistan in April 2010. In 2010 the Americans who took part in the rescue were honored with the Bundeswehr's highest award for a single act of valor, and Gattis and one of his comrades on that mission were honored once more during this year's air show.
