Army scientists demonstrate rapid detection of nerve agents

U.S. Army Research Laboratory scientists use a flow-through hollow cylindrical cell, like a straw, to propagate gases. This cylindrical cell holds the gas being sampled and contains microphones that can listen for the characteristic signal when light is applied to the sample.
