The Soldiers attempted role-players, acting as survivors to a simulated nuclear-blast attack during the annual field training exercise conducted by U.S. Northern Command and led by U.S. Army North. The exercise involves more than 9,000 service members and civilians at 11 training sites and airfields in Indiana and Kentucky.
