Army culinary team takes first place in Okinawa's inaugural interservice cook-off

Sgt. Dawn Walles, assigned to 1st Battalion, 1st Air Defense Artillery, at Kadena Air Base, Okinawa, prepares a unique three-part dessert which included a fruit pizza, cheesecake and chocolate toffee. The dessert was part of the inaugural island-wide, interservice cook-off held July 28 at Camp Foster, Okinawa. Service members from the Marines, Army, Navy and Air Force tested their culinary skills during the four-hour competition, with the Army eventually taking first place.
