MUSCATATUCK URBAN TRAINING CENTER, Ind. - Soldiers of the 103rd Engineer Company, 94th Engineer Battalion, 4th Maneuver Enhancement Brigade, out of Fort Leonard Wood, Mo., cleared roads choked with debris and obstacles Aug. 1 to clear the way for emergency responders here as part of a major incident exercise. The engineers used construction equipment to remove wood, concrete and metal debris blocking a road during Vibrant Response 13, a major field training exercise conducted by U.S. Northern Command and led by U.S. Army North. More than 9,000 service members and civilians are participating in the exercise in southern Indiana and northern Kentucky to provide lifesaving and life-sustaining care after a simulated 10-kiloton nuclear detonation in a major Midwestern city.
