Rock Island Arsenal named Center of Excellence for Add-On-Armor by Secretary of Army

Soldiers use the Objective Gunner Protection Kit mounted on an M114 Humvee in Iraq. The OGPK was named one of the Army's 10 Greatest Inventions for 2007. Rock Island Arsenal produced approximately 28,000 OGPKs. Secretary of the Army John McHugh designated Rock Island Arsenal Joint Manufacturing and Technology Center as a Center of Industrial and Technical Excellence for Add-on-Armor design, development and prototype fabrication.
