Jesus Chicharro, of the Spanish Army, supervises U.S. Army Cadets as they tighten down their safety gear before starting their training in water crossing along rope bridges that span a river in the Pyrenees Mountains. The Cadets were in Spain as part of U.S. Army Cadet Commands Cultural Understanding Language Proficiency program. CULP is designed to expose Cadets to other cultures so they can see that theirs is not the only one, to form relationships with people in other countries and so the Cadets can gain experience and an understanding of other ways of life. This is the first time ROTC Cadets have traveled to Spain and trained with its military.
