A Tentara National Indonesia Angkatan Darat Soldier and U.S. Army Reserve Soldiers of the 871st Engineer Company, based in Hilo, Hawaii, sift dirt for use in the construction of a community center in Malang, Indonesia, as part of Garuda Shield 2012, June 13, 2012. The 871st falls under the 411th Engineer Battalion, 9th Mission Support Command. Garuda Shield is a combined exercise between the U.S. Army and TNI-AD that promotes cooperation between the two forces and improves peacekeeping and stability operations and the disaster relief capabilities of both armies.
