A Chilean bomb disposal expert describes to Under Secretary of the Army Joseph W. Westphal how dangerous munitions are safely removed from the Chilean and Peruvian border during humanitarian demining operations during a recent visit to Quebrada de Escritos, Chile, June 11, 2012. Westphal participated in the 12th U.S. and Chile Defense Consultative Commission and visited with select Chilean Army units to expand partnership capacity. The U.S. and Chilean defense partnership is focused on a range of initiatives, from disaster response to conducting joint exercises and training.
